Canadian work experience: Some categories require eligible Canadian work experience. If you wish to work in Canada after completing your studies, you can apply for a work permit through the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program. Express Entry profile: Consider completing an Express Entry profile, which is the first step to immigrating to Canada permanently as a skilled worker. Requirements for permanent residence through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Program

You have the opportunity to apply for permanent residence through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Program.

To be eligible for this program, you must meet the following requirements:

Residence outside of Quebec: Your intention should be to live outside the province of Quebec.

Work experience: You must have at least 12 months of full-time (or an equivalent amount in part-time) work experience in Canada within the last three years before applying. This work experience should be in an occupation classified under National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill levels 0, 1, 2, or 3.

Legal work experience: The work experience you gained must have been acquired legally in Canada after you graduated. Any work done while you were a student cannot be included.

Language proficiency: You must meet the required language levels for each language ability (speaking, reading, writing, and listening) needed for your job.

It’s important to note that you don’t have to be currently working at the time of your application.

In addition to the CEC Program, there are other permanent residence programs available. If you would like to assess your qualifications and explore other immigration programs you may be eligible for, you can use the Come to Canada tool.

However, please keep in mind that completing an Express Entry profile is generally the first step to immigrate to Canada permanently as a skilled worker. It’s important to understand that completing an Express Entry profile does not guarantee that you will receive an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence. The selection process for receiving an Invitation to Apply is based on your score and rank in the Express Entry pool, which is determined using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

To maximize your chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply, it is advisable to have a competitive CRS score. This can be achieved by improving factors such as your language proficiency, education, work experience, and other additional factors that contribute to your CRS score.
