Canada Study Permit Language Test

Are you an international student and like to study in Canada? If so, you need to obtain a Study Permit. A Study Permit is a document given by Citizenship and Immigration Canada that gives you permission to study in Canada. Many clients call us and ask whether they need to take a Language Test to apply for the Study Permit. Luckily, applicants applying for the Study Permit do not have to provide Language Test Results but they have to provide other important documents listed below:

You will need to show a valid travel document- a passport of whatever you home country may use
If you happen to be coming from a visa-exempt country you will need to apply for a Visitor Visa in order to visit Canada
Proof that you have secured admission to a Canadian school (Acceptance Letter)
Proof of your financial situation for the length of your stay in Canada- this will also include your family/spouse if they are coming with you- this can be bank statements or letters from someone who will be supporting you during your stay
Proof of your identity
Accepted travel documents- i.e. Passport, along with 2 passport sized photos with your name and your date of birth written on the back of both
Demonstrate ties back with your home country to show that you will return once your term is over

The main things that you want to focus on when applying for your Study Permit is basically that you got accepted into a Canadian post-secondary institution, you have the funds available for your stay and your tuition, and that you will exit Canada once your visa expires. Another important aspect that the immigration officer will be looking at why you want to study in Canada and what does Canada have to offer you. So ensure you include your reasons of why you want to study in Canada to have better chance of success with your application.
