Canada Visitor Visa Invitation Letter

Planning to travel to Canada for temporary basis and have family or friends inviting you? Not sure what to include in the letter of invitation? Well for starters your invitation letter has to be written in good faith and plan to keep the promises you make in the letter.

As the inviter you must include the following information about the person you are inviting:

  • first and last name
  • date of birth
  • phone number
  • address
  • your relationship to the person
  • why they are travelling to Canada
  • how long do they intend to stay in Canada
  • places they will visit
  • who will cover accommodations
  • when the person will exit Canada

Also, you have to include information about yourself such as:

  • your first and last name
  • your date of birth
  • your phone number
  • your address
  • your status in Canada
  • your occupation
  • photocopy of your status document
  • your family information

Letter of invitation is not a requirement but the immigration officer may ask you who are visiting and request an invitation letter from you. Also, the invitation letter does not guarantee your entry into Canada but just helps make the application stronger. Also, when you send the invitation letter to the applicant have it notarized as the immigration officer may ask for it.
