When submitting a Canadian citizenship application you have to ensure you include all the documents listed on the document checklist. The reason why its important to complete a concise application for the immigration officer is because pursing times is extensive with citizenship applications, if you don’t do it right you could wait years until granted citizenship. So part of the document checklist is to include documentation that can prove that you have been a Permanent Resident of Canada such as your record of landing or photo copy of your PR card ensure you photocopy the front and backside of it and submitting it with your application. If you are between the ages of 14 to 64 (please see CIC website for latest age requirements) you need to demonstrate proficiency in English or French and knowledge of Canadian history, values, customs, etc. If you have medical condition that prevents you take the test you need to provide sufficient proof from your doctor such as a letter that states you are victim to a medical condition that prevents you to learn enough to meet the requirements.
It is important to include originals when requested in the checklist, so if it says original don’t submit a photocopy as your application will be returned which will delay application processing for you. Including photocopy of identity documents is important such as passport data page and your certificates from educational institution that demonstrates your education level. Also, include 2 passport size photos that are recent and stamped at the back. These are just few of the requirements, if you are looking into submitting an application for citizenship don’t hesitate to contact us.
