What is Canadian Experience Class?

Canadian Experience Class is when you can obtain permanent residence in Canada if you have worked for at least one year in the last three years.

In order to gain qualifications for this program you will need to have experience within Canada which may lead to Permanent Residence for you.

It is known as an immigration category for Canada’s Temporary Foreign Workers when you are wanting to become a Permanent Residents of Canada.

This is also a very popular option that is available for International Students. In most cases this program will offer the most simple and the fastest way of you as an International Students achieving your goal of becoming a Permanent Residents of Canada.

After you have completed a program at a Canadian school, you may be able to remain in the country on a post-graduate Work Permit. If during the time that you are staying in Canada you obtain at least one year of work in a skilled profession or a professional or technical field then you may be eligible to enter into the Express Entry Pool under the Canadian Experience Class.

What if you have completed a one-year degree from a Canadian post-secondary school? Will you still be able to apply for the Canadian Experience Class?

It is mandatory that you attend, complete and graduate from a two year program in an approved Canadian post-secondary school in order to qualify for the Canadian Experience Class.

Are there any exceptions?

Like for most things, there is an exception to this rule. The exception is if you have completed a one year Master’s Degree after you have already completed another program that is at least one year in length from an approved Canadian post-secondary school then you will still be seen eligible for the Canadian Experience Class. If you choose to take this route, both of the programs must be completed within two years.
