Federal Skilled Worker Arranged Employment and Age Selection Factors

Federal Skilled Worker Arranged Employment and Age Selection Factors

In some cases, you can get points if you have a permanent, full-time job offer from a Canadian employer. The job must be arranged before you apply to come to Canada as a federal skilled worker.

Obtaining arranged employment essentially means that you have found a Canadian employer who is willing to offer you a position that is also a position that is valid for the purpose of the Federal Skilled Worker program.

Your employer must also be willing to hold this position for you until your arranged employment application is completed and you have obtained permanent resident status.

Your employer will also have to submit an application to Service Canada to receive an arranged employment opinion to determine the validity of the job offer.

A valid job offer has to be:

  • for full-time, permanent and not seasonal work, and
  • in an occupation listed as Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A or B of the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
