The Caring for People with High Medical Need pathway is a pathway where caregivers can apply for Permanent Residency. There are several requirements the first requirement is having work experience. The Live in Caregiver needs to have at least 24 months of work experience in Canada, which must have been obtained within 4 years of your application date.
Secondly, you will need experience in certain jobs such as a registered nurse, a psychiatric nurse, a licensed nurse, a nurse aid, or a home support worker. Moreover, you must work for at least 30 hours a week. The list can also be found on CIC website for the latest updated information. Another requirement is education. You will need to have a Canadian post-secondary education. If you do not, you may have post-secondary education from where you are coming from; however, this must be assessed by a designated organization. The assessment is to prove that your education is equivalent to a Canadian education.
The last thing you will need is to pass the language ability test. You will be tested in either French or English, as those are the two official languages of Canada. You will also be tested on your writing, speaking, listening, and working skills.
