If you are interested you apply under Express Entry, your qualifications will be ranked against the Comprehensive Ranking System. All applicants will be ranked against this system and, based on your ranking; you may be invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada. Express Entry is based on a point system and categories for which are:
For the category of age the maximum points you can obtain are 110 if you are between 20-29 years of age. Depending on your specific age, the points will vary. For example:
For the category of education the maximum numbers of points you can obtain are 150. Again, points will vary. For example, you will gain the full 150 points if you have to have university-level credential at the doctoral level.
The minimum numbers of points you can obtain are 30 at the secondary school (high school) credential. But if you have less than secondary school (high school) credential then you will obtain no point under the education category. If you have spouse or common-law partner then the maximum numbers of points you can obtain are 140.
For the category of first official language proficiency the maximum numbers of points you can obtain are 136 if you are at CLB level 10 or more. Those points are for reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
For the second official language the maximum numbers of points you can obtain are 24. So if you are familiar with both official languages (English and French) then the maximum numbers of points you can obtain are 160.
If your CLB level is 4 or less than 4 then you will obtain no points. If you have spouse or common-law partner then the maximum numbers of points you can obtain are 150.
For the category of Canadian work experience the maximum numbers of points you can obtain are 80.
If you have 5 years or more than 5 years of working experience then you will obtain 80 points. The minimum numbers of points you can obtain are 40 if you have one year of working experience.
If you have less than one year of working experience then you will obtain no points. If you have spouse or common-law partner then the maximum numbers of points you can obtain are 70.
For the category of skill transferability factor the maximum numbers of points you can obtain are 100. Those 100 points are based on your education and foreign work experience.
You can also obtain additional 600 points if you have Arranged Employment or have received a Provincial Nomination.
The total maximum points you can obtain for all categories are 1200.
