Economic Class Application Six Selection Factors Video
Economic Class Application Six Selection Factors
One of the most important aspects to consider regarding your economic class application are the six selection factors. The six selection factors are based on:
- Education
- Work experience
- Age
- Arranged employment
- Adaptability
- Language ability
The six factors look and focus on higher education, language ability, and flexible transferability of your skills. Therefore, the higher your education, the higher you score under your language test and the more able you are to transfer your skills regardless of whether you obtain those skills in Canada or outside of Canada. The focus of the economic class or the express entry category is to demonstrate that you will be successful and economically established individual in Canada and able to transfer your skills to Canada.
The economic class favours those who are married because you get points for having spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner. In addition, it favours those who have a university or higher education. Applicants who have a job offer in Canada are rewarded with extra points and need to provide supporting documents that they are able to support themselves once they arrive in Canada. Therefore, besides these six selection factors, it is crucial to include any evidence of settlement funds in your application. This means for the immigration officer to consider approving your application you have to be able to demonstrate funds that you can provide for yourself once you arrive in Canada such as food, shelter, commuting etc. It is important to show funds because the immigration officer does not want you to depend on social assistance from the government and that you are able to financially fend for yourself.
Furthermore, stating that you have friends and family in Canada will be an asset towards your application. Though you will not get any additional points for friends, including them will still be beneficial. Family will give you additional points, as it demonstrates that you have someone that can assist you in adapting to and understanding Canadian way of life. This accounts for a strong adaptability factor. Overall, Canada wants to ensure that once you receive your PR card, you will be financially sound and a productive member of society; thus, including these additional documents will make you stand out as an applicant.
