A visitor visa is created and intended for foreign nationals from countries that are not visa-exempt and would like to come to Canada. Additionally, the visitor visa will then give these foreign nationals proper authorization to enter Canada for a temporary period. Visitor visas are also referred to as Temporary Resident Visas (TRVs). Most importantly, in order to determine whether you will need a visitor visa prior to arriving and entering Canada, you must research whether your country of birth is visa-exempt or not. If your country of birth is visa-exempt, then you will not require a visitor visa prior to entering Canada; on the other hand, you will require an Electronic Travel Authorization. If you are travelling to Canada just for tourism or even if you are travelling to Canada in transit to another country, you will require a visitor visa in order to enter the country, if you are not visa-exempt. There are specific requirements needed in order to successfully obtain a visitor visa. It is extremely important to meet all of the requirements in order to successfully apply for a visitor visa.
