Starting from January 1^st, 2015, CIC has launched a new permanent residence program to help large numbers of existing economic immigration programs. This is called Express Entry Route. These programs include the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skill Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class. Canadian employers must fill the billable job vacancy with a Canadian citizen or Permanent Residence first prior to offering the job to a foreign worker. If they cannot, then they can choose candidates from the Express Entry Pool who meet the job terms. An Invitation to Apply will then be issued to the candidates who rank the highest. However, these candidates will be ranked according to different factors which are discussed in subsequent videos.
