All of the Canadian Provinces and Territories use Express Entry, with the exception of Quebec and Nunavut who use their own system.
The Provinces and Territories are able to nominate you as an applicant through the Express Entry System in order for them to meet their provincial and local labour market needs.
If you get a nomination from a Province or Territory it means that you will be receiving additional points within the Comprehensive Ranking System. These points will go towards your application.
In turn, the points will mean that you will be receiving an Invitation to Apply for Permanent Residence during the next available draw.
In order for you to be selected from the Express Entry Pool you must meet requirements within one of the Federal Economic Immigration Programs. The three programs are:
On top of Provinces and Territories managing their own Provincial Nomination Programs they also now set out a certain criteria that they use in order to nominate you within the Express Entry System.

The Provinces and Territories also reserve their right to make nominations under their regular PNP’s which are outside of the Express Entry. If they choose to make nominations this way they will come in the way of a paper application process.
