Ways to Immigrate to Canada

There are several ways that you can immigrate to Canada depending on a few different factors:

  • Your educational background
  • Your employment background
  • Your financial situation
  • Whether or not you have familial ties to Canada
  • Whether or not you have current experience or education in Canada

The most predominant ways to immigrate to Canada are listed below.

Federal Skilled Worker Category

The Federal Skilled worker category is aimed at rewarding those with in demand occupations with Permanent Residence status in Canada. If your occupation falls on the list of eligible occupations, you may qualify under this stream.

Federal Skilled Trades Program

Much like the Federal Skilled Worker program, the Federal Skilled Trades program seeks to attract skilled trades people who can meet current labour market needs in Canada.

Canadian Experience Class

The Canadian experience class application seeks to reward those who have already obtained worthy work or educational experience in Canada depending on the nature of their work. If you are interested in permanently immigrating to Canada after already spending at least one year’s time here.

Family Sponsorship

If you have a spouse or common law partner in Canada who is willing to sponsor you for permanent residence, you can use this as a viable route to immigrate to Canada. There are other requirements on the sponsor as well.

Provincial Nominees

Recently, the Federal Government has entered into agreements with Provincial Governments to allow a Province to Nominate a candidate for Permanent Residence based on meeting certain criteria of the province. The Provincial Nominee program is a viable way for you to immigrate to Canada to the province of your nomination.
