Prior to receiving her Paralegal Diploma with Honours, she completed her Law Degree from the UK at the University of London as well as completed a Post Graduate Diploma.
In addition, she has also graduated from York University where she received both her Bachelor in Criminology and Masters in Socio-Legal Studies.

She is also a Member in good standing with Law Society of Upper Canada.
Prior to opening her own firm, she gained extensive experience in corporate immigration law; specializing in work permits, temporary resident permits and rehabilitation cases.

She has in depth and hands on experience in all Canadian Immigration and Citizenship matters. These matters include preparation and submission of applications for permanent residence, work permits, NAFTA applications, labour market opinions, temporary resident permits, sponsorships, and business investors.

On April 14, 2021, the Government of Canada announced a temporary policy which would open pathways to permanent residence for over 90,000 essential workers and international graduates who are currently contributing to the Canadian economy. This new government initiative has three proposed paths:

  1. Health Care Workers
  2. Essential Workers
  3. International Graduates

This new government initiative will run from May 6, 2021 to November 5, 2021, or once all 90,000 positions have been filled. In the second of this three-part blog, we will look at the path to permanent residence for Essential Workers.

COVID-19 UPDATES & IMPACT ON IMMIGRATION TO CANADA

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) has commenced the issuance of a Supervised Short Duration Certificate, whereby some internationally-trained physicians and medical school graduates may obtain a 30-day medical license in Ontario to help fight COVID-19.

This will enable said physicians and graduates to render medical care and attention under supervision at various hospitals, psychiatric institutions and Crown agencies. In Ontario, one out of 10 COVID-19 cases are health-care providers; therefore, there is an increasing demand for physicians to help manage the deluge and influx of cases.  Accordingly, immigration Canada is now carving a small exception and thereby allowing entry of physicians or graduates, whom are internationally-trained to practice supervised medicine for a temporary period of time – 30 days to be exact. However, candidates may apply for an extension of an additional 30 days.
