Planning to submit an Inland Sponsorship application and curious how long it takes to get a decision on the application? Well, Inland Sponsorship Applications go through two stages; the first stage involves assessing the sponsor and the applicant which takes about 14 months to get processed. After the first stage is finalized the application goes through the second stage which involves looking into the applicants medical and security background checks and other verifications that the officer needs. The second stage approximately takes 8 months to get processed.
Also, you have to remember that processing times also depend on which visa office you are submitting your application and whether you are filing for inland or overseas application. Remember applications are filed based on your country of citizenship, if there is not visa office in your home country then you have to submit the application closest to your home country.
Please refer to the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (cic.gc.ca) website to get approximate time for your visa office. The chart shows processing time for a complete application and it’s an approximate time frame which can be changed without notice and are not guaranteed.
