  • Sign an agreement with your spouse or partner
  • Cannot be on social assistance or bankrupt
  • Cannot have a previous undertaking for a spouse or partner, where three years have not passed since the sponsored spouse became permanent resident.
  • Cannot be convicted of a violent criminal offence or a an offence of sexual nature
  • You have to wait at least 5 years to sponsor a spouse or partner, if you were previously sponsored as a spouse or partner yourself.
