Study Permit Documents Needed

If you have been accepted inta Canadian post-secondary institution or you wish tobtain an education in Canada, chances are you will need a study permit.

In order tobtain a study permit, you will need tprovide the right supporting documents and as well as convince an immigration officer of your temporary study intentions.

The essentials you will need tdemonstrate are:

  • Proof of acceptance
  • Proof of identity
  • Proof of financial support
  • Proof of intent

Proof of Acceptance:

If you want tattend any primary or secondary school, college, university, then you need a letter of acceptance from that learning institution. This will need tbe included with your application prior tobtaining your permit and not after the fact.

Proof of identity:

You alsmust provide the valid passport or any travel document and each accompanying family member that allow you tcome back tyour home country. Further, you will want tensure your passport his valid for at least a year when the visa is processed as you will not be granted status beyond the validity of your passport.

Proof of financial support:

You must provide documents that you have the ability tcare for yourself, tuition and any accompanying family members. You can provide documents like:

  • Proof of Canadian bank account in your name if money has been transferred tCanada
  • Proof of student or education loan from a financial institution
  • Your bank statement for the last four months
  • Bank draft in convertible currency
  • Proof of payment of tuition and accommodation fees
