Are you an international student in Canada and wondering if you can work while studying? If so, watch our video and find out what qualifications you need to meet to work either on or off campus while on study permit.
Work as a International Student
If you have successfully obtained your Study Permit then as the international student you are able to work on or off-campus. The difference is that with on campus you are full-time student but you are working on part-time basis inside the campus this can range from working at the school gym, library and if you intend to work off-campus you are working outside your school zone such McDonalds or Wendy's. However, as the full-time student the maximum hours you can work is 20 hours per week but during holidays or when school is closed you can work full-time hours. So ensure you are full-time student and you do not work more than 20 hours per week and follow the regulations under the immigration act or else it can affect your future applications.
