A Visitor Visa also known as Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) is document that is issued by Canadian visa office that places a stamp in your passport showing that you have met the requirements to enter Canada as temporary visitor (visitor, student or worker). Prior to travelling to Canada you have to have an approved TRV in hand or else you wont be able to enter Canada.

If you are someone that is coming for tourism purposes than you must mention this in your letter.
