A Visitor Visa also known as Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) is document that is issued by Canadian visa office that places a stamp in your passport showing that you have met the requirements to enter Canada as temporary visitor (visitor, student or worker). Prior to travelling to Canada you have to have an approved TRV in hand or else you wont be able to enter Canada.

There are bunch of documents you need to include with your Visitor Visa application one of these is the letter of invitation. If you are someone that is coming for tourism purposes than you must mention this in your letter. Stating that you do not have anyone in Canada and simply coming to see the major attractions of Canada and therefore do have letter of invitation. So instead in the letter include where you will be staying, how long you will be staying in Canada, how you will cover for your accommodations, showing enough funds during your period of stay etc.

Another, important piece of documents is demonstrating ties to your home country by providing ample proof you have to intension to remain in Canada. This can be done by showing documents such as:

family obligations back home
assets you own
bank statements
employment
letter from employer
taxes
return ticket
travel history (all the countries you have visited shows you have not overstayed your welcome stay in other countries)
