Why Has My Application Been Delayed?

There are several reasons why your application might have been delayed, which is why it is crucial for you to have completed your application accurately. Some factors that might delay your application includes,

  • Forgetting to sign your applications
  • Missing documents
  • Paying the incorrect amount to process your application
  • Unclear photocopies of documents
  • Not having documents translated in English or French
  • Not having additional medical tests or consultations for a medical condition
  • Any criminal or security problems

As I mentioned earlier, it is important for you to have a complete and accurate application. Things such as forgetting to sign or missing documentations may result in having your application sent back to you in order for you to do these things.

Paying the incorrect amount will also delay your application. If you have paid more than the required amount, then a refund will automatically be sent back to you. However, if you do not pay the correct amount, the application will be sent back to you.

It is also important to make sure your copied documents are clear and can be read. If your documents are not in English or French, you must have them translated and submit a certified copy along with an affidavit from the person who did the translation.

In terms of medical examinations, criminal, or security problems, you must have your examinations done and have police clearances completed. If there are any issues in this area that you have not resolved, this may be grounds for inadmissibility and so there will be a delay in the review of your application.

The best way to avoid delays is to have your application complete and accurate when you send it. At Akrami & Associates, we understand that the process can be overwhelming and often times, complex.
