If you are interested in studying in Canada, you will need to know whether or not you are eligible to apply for a study permit. There are a few requirements to a Study Permit, and you must qualify for the following. If you have an acceptance letter from the designated institution, you will also need to prove that you have enough money for both your tuition as well as your living expenses for yourself and family member that came with you. You must also have return transportation for yourself as well as the family member that came with you. Furthermore, you cannot be inadmissible to Canada. This means that you should have no criminal record and you must provide a police record to prove that. You must also authorize to the immigration officer that you are leaving at the end of your authorized stay. There are some exceptions to your Study Permit; for example, you will not need a Study Permit if you are going to be taking courses in Canada that are less than 6 months.
