A PR (Permanent Residence) card expires every 5 years and needs to be renewed simultaneously until you obtain citizenship/become a citizen of Canada. If you do not meet the residency requirements, your only hope is to file a Humanitarian and Compassionate consideration application. A Humanitarian and Compassionate consideration application is an application in which you basically tell the officer to forgive you because there was a situation in which you had to leave the country.
An example factors that made you leave the country are a family emergency, medical issues, and employment/financial issues. If you do not have a legitimate reason for leaving Canada when having a PR Card, you will not be eligible to enter the country until you obtain a new PR card or travel document.
If you realize that you are out of the country when your PR card is about to expire, contact Akrami & Associates so that one of the representatives can help you with your urgent matter.
With Akrami & Associates there is always a way!
