Denied Entry To Canada Temporary Resident Permit

Temporary Resident Permit (TRP) is a document issued to persons who are considered criminally or medically inadmissible to Canada. So prior to coming to Canada you require this document, so if you have an offense on record such as DUI, DWI, misrepresentation, felony, overstayed your welcome stay or major health issue you need to apply for this document.

Temporary Resident Permit can be either applied at the consulate which takes approximately 8-12 months for processing or you can apply at Port of Entry for same day decision if you fall under the NAFTA agreement such Mexicans and Americans. For the immigration officer to issue a TRP they assess the seriousness of the offence, your pattern of criminal behaviour, completion of sentence, fines paid, restitution made etc. Individuals that do not fall under the NAFTA agreement such Pakistan, India, Cuba, basically countries that come from non-visa exempt countries have to apply at consulate and cannot apply at the Port of Entry.

If you have not completed your probation, fine, sentence or whatever that was imposed on you, you can still attempt at the Port of Entry by having compiled all the necessary documentation to show that the need of you being in Canada outweighs the risks.

If you have past or present criminal record then contact Akrami & Associates today for higher chance of entry at the Canadian border.
