If you wish to visit Canada, the first thing you have to figure out is whether you require a Visitor Visa to enter Canada or if you are exempt from it. To determine if you need to apply or if you are exempt from it is by going the government website. The government website is Citizenship and Immigration Canada also known as CIC (cic.gc.ca). To determine if you are exempt or if you need to apply click on the link provided http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.asp. In here you will see a long list of countries that are either are exempt or require a visa.
Some countries are exempt and just need to apply for Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) while others need to apply for the Visitor Visa. Please see website for detailed instructions. If you are exempt you simply apply for the eTA which determines whether or not if you have any inadmissibility issues. If you happen to have an inadmissibility issue you have to apply for an additional document called a TRP or ARC depending on your situation. If nothing shows up you simple print off your eTA and bring it with you when boarding the plane.
If you come from Non-Visa exempt country then you have to apply for Visitor Visa to Canada and provide ample amount of documents that show your intensions are only temporary to Canada. This can be provided by documents such as bank statements, property, assets, family, job or anything that shows you have responsibilities back home and will exit Canada once your visa expires.
If you are planning to visit Canada and not sure if you are exempt from the Visitor Visa or if you need to apply then contact us today and will see what steps you need to take to travel to Canada with ease.
