You may be wondering what the elimination conditions are for the Federal Skilled category, there are four elimination conditions. The first is that you have to demonstrate that you have at least one year of work experience in one of the 50 eligible occupations. If you are not on the occupation list you are automatically disqualified from applying under the Federal Skilled category. You may qualify if you have an approved Arrangement Employment in Canada, this means that there is an employer in Canada who is willing to hire you and does Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) to continue with your PR application. Another important factor is that if you have been living in Canada for a minimum of 1 year, and you have been working in an occupation categorized as “skill level” A, B or O you may apply under the Canadian Experience Class category. For example, if your occupation does not fall under the 50 eligible occupation list and have no Arranged Employment but you have one year experience in NOC A,B, or O you can still qualify under the Federal Skilled occupation. Finally, the last condition is being enrolled in the PhD program. This involves being in good standing and having completed at least 2 years of the program, or having graduated and submitted an application at least 12 months preceding the application.
Therefore, the eliminatory conditions are either you are on the list of the 50 eligible occupations or you have Arranged Employment, or you have in worked in Canada for 1 year in the last 3 years, or you are in the process of completing a PhD program. If one of these four conditions apply to you, you can continue with your Permanent Residency Application. The essential factors they look for in these applications are the six eligible factors, which include: language ability, education, work experience, age, arranged employment, and adaptability. This follows a point system of 100. Each individual needs to score a minimum of 67 points out of the 100 to continue the application.
