Intra Company Transferee

Intra Company Transferee is a type of work permit for individuals who are coming to Canada from a company outside of Canada. What I mean by that is, for example you are working in the United States for a company and that company has an affiliate or subsidiary inside Canada. If that is the case you may qualify for the Intra company transferee work permit.

To qualify for this, there is three main requirements, the first one is to demonstrate that indeed there is a relationship between these two companies so the American company and the Canadian company, the second is to demonstrate that the applicant that’s being transferred to the Canadian company has a minimum of one year work experience outside of Canada and the last is we have to show that the individual is either an executive or a manager at this company or has specialized knowledge with this particular position that’s being offered in Canada.

Making sure that we have documentation in the application that we submit to demonstrate these three main requirements is essential to the success of your application. What is specialized knowledge? I mean it’s terminology that we throw out there and it’s something that we indicate but proving it is a different matter. This is where we come in, in look at the offer of employment that is being given to the applicant tweeted out, look at the job description to ensure that the officer agrees with us that yes indeed the position that’s being offered to the applicant is specialized.

If these requirements are not met you could have an unsuccessful application now it is devastating for an applicant who just went to the port of entry and been refused by the officer entry, now you must turn around go back to the state you came from and then we file the application at the consulate and state it consulates can take a few weeks and two months to getting a decision on your matter.
