If you are an international student currently studying in Canada, you may be wondering if you are eligible to work in Canada as well. You may be eligible to be working off campus or on campus; however, you would need to meet certain requirements to do so. If you are studying in Canada and are eligible to work Off Campus without a Work Permit, your Study Permit will allow you to work up to 20 hours a week during full-time school, college, or university. You can also work full time when you have scheduled breaks. This will include your winter breaks and summer breaks. In order to apply for Off Campus Work Permit, you would need to have the following: a valid Study Permit, be a full time student enrolled at a registered institution, ability to work up to 20 hours per week, and you would not need a Work Permit but must apply for a social insurance number. You can also work on campus while studying without needing a Work permit, as long as you have a valid Study Permit and are a full time student at a registered institution.
