Are you wondering about the PNP for Alberta engineer category? One of the great things about this category is that an employer is not necessary to support this application. As the applicant, there are four requirements to meet before submitting the application.
The first is that you live within the province of Alberta and must have the intentions to reside in the province of Alberta. This is very important, because it disqualifies many candidates that are not residents of Alberta. Ensure that all documentation is included in the application to demonstrate that you will continue to reside there once the application is finalized. You can do this with a letter of intent, or by demonstrating ties to the province such as a job letter or bank account.
The second requirement is that you must provide proof of your education as an engineer, designer, or director. The education itself does not have to be part of Alberta; you can have education from outside of Alberta as long as it is compliant with the province of Alberta.
The third requirement is to have worked or to be working in Alberta in the past two years. For example, if you worked in the province of Alberta but are now currently in province of Ontario but have residency in the province of Alberta and your intentions is to go back to Alberta then you apply under this stream.
Finally, the last requirement which is very important is that the occupation has to be under the list of Strategic Recruitment Streams. Not all the occupations under this stream will qualify; you want to make sure you qualify under a specific NOC. When you look at the NOC, it might be difficult as to which one is suitable for you. Instead of looking at the job title, look at the job description and then compare it to the NOC that is how which occupation to apply under.
When you do file the application, ensure that you include reference letters to demonstrate that you indeed have the relevant work experience.
