PNP Alberta Strategic Recruitment Stream

Under the Alberta Strategic Recruitment Stream, you can submit your own application meaning you do not need a job offer from an employer in Alberta and therefore the employer does not need to submit the application for you. Under this stream there are three sub-categories which include:

• compulsory/optional trades
• engineering occupations
• post-graduate work category

Compulsory/Optional Trades

• managers, force men, trades people
• there is list on CIC website that lists what requirements you need to meet to be eligible to apply based on your trade

Requirements for the applicant

• try living and working the province of Alberta
• demonstrating ties to Alberta by providing letter of intent
• Alberta qualification certificate or recognized trades certificate (compulsory/optional trades)
• live in Alberta and have valid work permit
• work in area of expertise at time of filing the application
• 6 months work in Alberta in the past two years
