PNP Nova Scotia Factors Considered for Nomination

Are you considering the Nova Scotia PNP program, but confused on what factors they will consider? When applying for the Regional Labour Market in the Demand Stream of the Nova Scotia Immigrant Nominee Program (NSNP), it is important to keep in mind that the program seeks to fill in demand occupations currently offered by the province of Nova Scotia with foreign nationals interested in applying for Permanent Residence through the province.

This is a unique application, as it does not require that you first obtain an employment offer by a Canadian employer. However, there are many other factors that the program will consider when determining whether or not you are eligible for nomination. The first factor aspect they will consider is your age. In order to qualify, you must be between the ages of 21 and 55. If you are not, the application will be returned.

Another aspect they would consider is your language proficiency. In order to be eligible, you will need to submit proof of your language proficiency through one of the registered providers with Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). These are providers such the Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).  In order to qualify, your grade must meet a Canadian bench mark language level of five. Depending on the kind of testing you apply for, you will have to refer to CIC to see how you scored in comparison to their bench mark levels.

Another aspect of the application is determining whether or not you have the funds available for your stay in Canada. It is very important to an immigration officer that you have the necessary funds to take care of both yourself and your family while you are in Canada. Depending on your family size, the required funds that you will need change. There is a list as per CIC that outlines necessary funds for your family size. For example, if you count yourself as the applicant, a spouse and two children results in a family size of four. In this case, you will have to have a minimum necessary funds of approximately $21 000. These must be funds that are disposable and currently available to you.

Education also place an important role in your application, this means that you are going to have a minimum of high school and a current education that is equivalent to a 12-month high school education in Canada. In addition to this, you also must demonstrate that you have post-secondary education in a university or college recognized by your country. You may also have your credentials assessed to demonstrate this fact.

Finally, the province might also consider your settlement plan. This plan is an outline close to a business plan that demonstrates the purpose of this province as well as what your long term attentions are. Essentially, this is your commitment to the province that you not only meet the requirements, but that you will fulfill your obligations to the province and reside in the province. These are the essential qualifications of the regional market in the demand stream, which you may wish to consider when applying.
