Are you wondering if you can sponsor your girlfriend or boyfriend to Canada? In order to be eligible to sponsor a loved one to Canada they have to fall under the Family Class. Individuals that fall under the Family Class include spouses, common law or conjugal partners, dependent children and parents or grandparents. Unfortunately, girlfriend/boyfriends do not fall under the Family Class and have to apply for Temporary Resident Visa (TRV).
If you as the inviter have temporary status in Canada you are not eligible to invite someone unless you are permanent resident or citizen of Canada. Therefore, the person wanting to come to Canada has to apply for their own temporary visa. If you have friends or family members in Canada that are Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents than they can provide you an invitation letter to Canada. Invitation Letters are not necessary but to have higher chance of success it is recommended to include it with your application. If you decide to get married with an individual that is permanent resident or citizen of Canada then you can apply for Spousal Sponsorship to obtain status in Canada.
If you like to come to Canada and obtain status call us today and let us determine your eligibility criteria for Permanent Residency to Canada.
