To apply for Parent or Grandparent Super Visa you must be the parent or grandparent of a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident. As the applicant and inviter you cannot have any medical or criminal inadmissibility issues to be eligible to apply. Also, dependent children cannot apply under the Super Visa. So if you have siblings they are not eligible under the Super Visa application just the parent and grandparent can apply under the Super Visa, the dependent child has to apply for Visitor Visa also known as Temporary Resident Visa (TRV).
The Super Visa and Visitor Visa are pretty much the same both these applications are only for temporary stay in Canada so when applying you have to demonstrate that the intent to remain in Canada is only temporary and that you are able to support yourself during your time of stay in Canada. So the more documents you provide to show ties to your home country the higher the chance of success. Some of these documents include showing you have property back home, family obligations, assets, bank statements etc. Including a invitation letter from the host helps make the application stronger, so if you have an inviter ensure to include a invitation letter.
With the Super Visa you need to take an additional step by proving that as the inviter you are the child or grandchild of the parent or grandparent you are inviting. Also, as the inviter you have to show that you meet the minimum financial requirement to support your family members and the parent (s) or grandparent (s) you are inviting. The parent (s) or grandparent (s) also need to get a valid Canadian medical insurance in which they are covered for at least one year and have passed their medical examination.
