Temporary Resident Visas (TRV) also known as Visitor Visas are granted to visitors that come from non-visa exempt countries such Turkey, Iran, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and are typically issued for a 6 month period. The applicant is either awarded a single or multiple entry visa depending on their purpose of visit. Not sure if you can exit and enter Canada while on Temporary Resident Visa? Depending on what type of visa has been issued to you determines your choices entry and exit.
If you have Single Entry Visa to Canada then it only allows you a one time entry into Canada meaning once you exit Canada you cannot come back. If you travelled to the United States or St. Pierre and Miquelon then you can re-enter with your single entry visa and do not need to apply for new Visitor Visa.
If you have Multiple Entry Visa to Canada then as the visitor you can enter and exit Canada for six months at a time, without having to reapply each time. Visitor Visas can be valid up to 10 years or one month before your passport expires, whichever comes first. Remember you must arrive on or before the expiry date on your visa.
When submitting a Visitor Visa application ensure to demonstrate ties to your home country and you have no intent in remaining in Canada and when requesting a Multiple Entry Visa, explain why you need travel on multiple occasions to Canada.
