Once you have worked in Canada as a Live in Caregiver, the next step you’d probably want to take is obtain Permanent Residency in Canada. For the first option, it is essential for you to have worked in Canada for 2 years (24 months) and you can only apply within the four years of living in Canada. The second option states that you must have a total of 3900 hours of worked time in Canada as a Caregiver. With this requirement, you need 22 months of work time, instead of the 24 month period. The same requirement applies for applying within the four years of living in Canada. You must show your work experience and work periods through valid documentary evidence and information. For instance, the employer might be able to provide you with a work sheet or scheduling sheet to show your hours worked.
