LMIA Successful Application

A successful Labour Market Impact Assessment or LMIA application needs proper communication with the immigration officer. Specifically, it needs to be well communicated to the officer it needs to be well articulated to the officer as to what efforts have you made as the employer as what efforts have you made to hire Canadians. So, five main things to keep in mind when your submitting the LMIA application is as follows:

What means have you taken to recruit and train Canadians? This is extremely important you can demonstrate this by advertisements and so forth but that will just copy and paste and printout the ad in the application, explain the efforts a little in detail, how many people did you interview or the pros or cons of the applications. It needs to be more than here I put and ad in job Bank Canada I did not find a Canadian so I am hiring foreign national, explain the effort you’ve made in the application that the officer understands that the Canadians are not readily available to take on that position. Again, it goes back to the same why did you have difficulty recruiting Canadians.

Sometimes it would mean the fact that your position or job offer is in a remote area or the individual requires to travel, educational requirements, work experience that you need for this job, you advertised for it but were not successfully available to do it

The third is what are your plans to train a Canadian? And that is important, a lot of clients that come to me forget this key thing, so when you do the recruitments you must add what efforts you have made to still reach out to Canadians to take on that position.

The fourth is when you want to explain to the immigration officer that should this LMIA application be approved for your company what benefits this individual must your company, to the economy etc. you want to flush it out a little bit more to the pros of hiring this national.

The fifth one is that if you’re in such need of this applicant, if you’re willing to offer this individual a permanent full time position you are also mentioning this in your application to say these are the efforts I have done in the past, and I was not successful in hiring Canadians for reason should this individual pass this probation, I am also willing to offer a full time position for the foreign national, which you can also link back to saying that if this foreign national can get his PR we can continue training potential Canadians, So definitely you need more than here’s job posting I did and please approve my LMIA.

You want to sit down, write it down as to what efforts have you made, what success have you seen and what not so successful interviews you have conducted and why this foreign is extremely important for your organization.
