Definition of Common Law
Common Law really means that you are residing with your partner in a conjugal committed relationship for a minimum of 12 months or more. These are the things that you have to prove when you submit a Common Law Sponsorship application otherwise citizenship and immigration Canada will perceive your relationship just as girlfriend or boyfriend relationship or just as partners and not as common-law union. Ensure you indicate your relationship with a Common-Law Declaration and ample documents that you have resided in committed conjugal relationship for 12 months or more.
If are unsure if you fall under the Common-Law Sponsorship or what supporting documents to include with your application then please contact us today and our immigration experts will be glad to assist you.
