Youth Mobility Program
What is the Youth Mobility Program?
The youth mobility program allows young travelers to work and travel abroad. It is an international exchange program between countries that made agreements with Canada. This program is usually available to those aged 18-35 but varies based on the country you are planning to travel to. The countries that made the agreement with Canada are listed below in alphabetical order.
· Czech Republic
· Hong Kong
· New Zealand
You will need to obtain a work visa from the country you are planning to travel to. This will include applying for the visa as well as paying the fee. You will also need to prove that you can pay for your own travel, and accommodation and medical insurance. Additionally, you need to be a student or recent graduate based on the country.
Based on the country, the price and age restrictions, and qualifications will vary. Also there will be a cap based on the country that a country can send to and from per year.
The advantages of this program are that it exposes you to a new culture, international networks, and a more globalized society.
If you are accepted, the CIC will issue a work permit to you. The Youth Mobility Program is managed by the International Trade (DFAIT) and the Department of Foreign Trades.
