Visitor Visa Application
Three Main Requirements for Visitor Visa
First: Purpose in Canada
This is where you will state why you want to visit Canada. It could be for reasons not limited to but can include activities such as: business, travel and tourism or to visit family and friends. It is important to include the documents that will demonstrate your purpose of visiting Canada such flight ticket, itinerary, reservations etc. There will be an invitation letter that you will be required to include within your application, and it is extremely important to know who is going to be writing it for you. The drafting of the Invitation Letter is a very important part of your Visitor Visa Application.
If you have a significant other whom is writing the invitation letter for you it’s not a bad idea, but you will have to ensure that your ties to your home country will remain stronger than your ties to Canada. If you do have your partner writing your invitation letter you will want to make sure that it can be proven that they are not your significant ties to Canada.
Having a friend write the invitation letter instead might be a better idea. Having a family member or partner writing your invitation will require you to prove the second requirement for your Visitor Visa Application.
Second: Ties to Your Home Country
This is the part of your application where you will demonstrate the ties that you have to your home country. Your ties will be used to help show the immigration officer that you will leave Canada once your authorized period of stay is over.
How you can show your ties:
- If you are in school or have gone to school you can provide the documents
- Property that you may have
- Insurance
- Bank Accounts
- Any family that you have back home, etc.
It is important for you to not only provide the documents along with your application but also to describe how and why these ties are significant to you.
Proof of Funds:
This part is where you will be required to prove that you are capable of taking care of yourself while you are in Canada.
There is no real rule that states an exact amount of money in which you NEED to have in your bank account. This is where you will have to be reasonable with the amount of time you are asking for compared to the amount of money that you have in your bank account. A big part of this will be looking at where you are staying and what you will be required to purchase during your stay. If someone is providing accommodations for you then you will need to add that into your application.
Just make sure too look at who you’re staying with, how long you’re asking for and what will be expected of you to buy while you’re here. All of this will be expected to be included in your application.
