Express Entry Route Comprehensive Ranking System Video

Express Entry Route Comprehensive Ranking System

Under the Express Entry Route there is something called the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), this is a points-based system that is used to assess and score a candidates profile to rank them in the Express Entry Pool. Under the Comprehensive Ranking System your profile will be assessed based on your skills, work experience, language ability, education and other factors. All Express Entry applicants can get a maximum of 1200 points based on the four parts of the Comprehensive Ranking System Formula. These categories include:

  1. Skills and Experience factors, under this category you can score maximum of 500 points if you are single, if you have a spouse or common-law partner the maximum you can score is 460 points. So what immigration Canada basically looks for is assessing your skills and the needs of the Canadian economy.
  2. Spouse or Common-Law Partner factors (your spouse or common-law partner gets assessed on how they can contribute to the Canadian economy through their language skills and education) The maximum points you can get as the spouse or common-law partner is 40 points.
  3. Skills Transferability factors (including education and work experience – factors that when combined, result in better chances of being employed, and higher earnings). What this means is that immigration Canada looks for your chances of being employed in Canada or getting selected by an employer in Canada from the Express Entry Pool based and being able to transfer those learned skills into the Canadian economy. If you are single you can score maximum of 100 points and if you have spouse or common-law partner you can score maximum of 100 points also.
  4. The candidate can get additional points if they have a nomination from the province or territory or if they have valid job offer from an employer in Canada. Maximum you can score is 600 points whether it is being single or having a spouse or common-law partner.

So after adding up all your points you get put in the Express Entry Pool and get ranked amongst your peers. The highest ranking candidate gets chosen by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and gets an Invitation to Apply for Permanent Residency.
