Federal Skilled Worker Program New List For 2014

Canada’s immigration system has once again proven how generous and comprehensive it can be. Effective May 1, 2014, the List of Eligible Occupation under the Federal Skilled Worker Program will increase to 50 occupations. What does this mean? This means that there is now a greater chance for you to qualify for Permanent Residence status in Canada under the Federal Skilled Worker Program. If your occupation falls under one of the listed occupations in the new List of Eligible Occupations, then you are eligible to apply to Canada under the Federal Skilled Worker Program given your work experiences meet the requirements under the Program.

The New List Of Eligible Occupations for 2014

The new list of Eligible Occupations that will become effective May 1, 2014 is a broader list that includes a variety of different occupations. This increases the probability that you may fall under the List of Eligible Occupations and as a result you may be eligible to apply under the Federal Skilled Worker Program. This more extensive List of Occupations no longer just focuses on very technical occupations but has expanded to include administrative, different types of managerial, human resources-related, and health-related occupations.

For example, some of the newly included jobs are:

  • Human Resources Manager
  • Managers in Health Care
  • Construction Manager
  • Property Administrators
  • Nursing Coordinators and Supervisors
  • Dieticians and Nutritionists
  • Paramedical Occupations
  • Physiotherapists
  • Registered Nurses and Registered Psychiatric Nurses
  • Specialist Physicians
  • University Professors and Lecturers
  • Early Childhood Educators and Assistants
  • Licensed Practical Nurses
  • General Practitioners and Family Physicians
