Intra Company Transferee Work Permit Requirements for Canada
When submitting an Inra-Company Transferee Work Permit application there are three basic requirements you need to meet to submit a strong application to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC).
The first requirement would be the employee has to be currently working by multi-national company and seeking to enter to Canada in its parent, subsidiary or its affiliate branch. What this means, the employee that is getting transferred is working for an international company who is qualified and being temporarily transferred to Canada in an attempt to effectively manage the Canadian division of the company, which can better expand Canadian exports such that it will enhance competitiveness in the international market. In order for the employee to get transferred to its Canadian branch the home company and its branch in Canada should have a Qualifying Relationship. The other requirement would be the employee that is getting transferred from the foreign company has to show they have been employed for a minimum of 1 year with the foreign company within the last 3 years and is only getting transferred for short term basis. The final requirement would be as the transferee you should have managerial, executive or job that requires specialized knowledge. Another important aspect is the employment should be 1 year full-time, if the employee has been working part-time with the foreign company then the hours have to equate to a full-time position before they can transfer to Canada.
