Understanding the selection criteria for qualifying in the Canadian Business Program

The maximum score for the assessment is 100, and you must obtain a minimum of 35 points to qualify for immigration to Canada. Please note that the pass mark of 35 may change periodically, so it’s important to confirm the current pass mark when your application is being processed.

What is considered relevant experience for the application? 

To meet the requirements, you must have worked for at least two one-year periods within the five years leading up to the application decision. Relevant experience includes being self-employed in cultural activities or athletics, or participating in cultural activities or athletics at the world-class level. To qualify for cultural activities, you need either two one-year periods of self-employment or participation at a world-class level, or a combination of one year of self-employment and one year of participation. Examples of cultural activities include health, sales and services, law and social, and business.
