Canadian Experience Class Language Requirements
One of the qualifications of the Canadian Experience Class is meeting the language requirements.
As the applicant, you must demonstrate that they meet the language requirements according to your occupational skill level by providing evidence of your proficiency in English or French in all four of the following abilities:
- speaking,
- reading,
- listening and
- writing.
Your application will need to be accompanied by the results of the principal applicant’s English or French language proficiency assessment from a testing agency designated by Citizenship and Immigration Canada for the Canadian Experience Class application in order to be considered eligible for processing.
Before submitting your application, make sure of the date of your Language Test. Language test results must not be more than two years old at the time of application, and must include results for all four language abilities as mentioned above.
The results of your language test will be matched up to the Canadian Language Benchmarks. This means that you will need to refer your result to the appropriate Canadian Benchmark Level to see that you have met the minimum requirements. This will be a clear indicator of your language proficiency in terms of the Language Requirements for the Canadian Experience Class.
Each skill level Classification: A, B or 0 will have the appropriate Canadian Language Benchmark level you will need to meet. As the various testing methods differ in marking, the Canadian Language Benchmark standardizes this for you.
