Common Reasons for Refusals of Visitor Visas Video

As a foreign national attempting to travel to Canada from abroad, it is very important to take into consideration the factors that Immigration officers examine when assessing Visitor Visa applications. In this video, Ms. Akrami explains the common reasons for refusals of Visitor Visas which can be specified in three separate factors: travel history, financials and ties to the foreign national's home country. Firstly, in order to be able to enter Canada, you must demonstrate that you have travelled elsewhere and abided by the requirements of the authorized visit. For instance, if you have travelled to another country, the Immigration officer will want to determine whether you left before the expiry of the authorized visit. Secondly, you must demonstrate that you have sufficient funds to support your travels to and from Canada and your stay in Canada. If you cannot prove this to the Immigration officer, they can potentially refuse your application. Lastly, you should have sufficient ties to your home country to prove that you will return. For instance, if you own a business back home, you can show the Immigration officer your business ownership as proof that it is vital for you to return home.
