What is Provincial Nomination Program PNP?
The Provincial Nominee Program is a program that gives provinces the option to nominate individuals who wish to immigrate to Canada and who are interested in settling in a particular province. This program is geared towards allowing Canada’s provinces and territories to select you as an individual who has shown interest in settling within Canada in a particular province and/or territory. As an interested individual you must also be able to contribute to that certain province and/or territory’s economic development. The Provincial Nomination Program is essentially a quicker way of obtaining Permanent Resident status in Canada.
Criteria Provinces Look for in their Nominees
The program is designed to choose individuals who will be able to settle into life and work in the region, as well as, effectively contribute to the community. One of the requirements a nominee has to meet is the language test requirements. Language test requirements for semi or low skilled job under the Express Entry Route for managerial job, professional job, technical job and skilled trade one would be tested on ability to listen, speak, read, and write in English or French. The minimum standard depends on each province or territory. Other eligibility standards vary depending on the province.
