Manitoba off to a great start for 2018 with its Express Entry Pathway and Provincial Nominee Program

The province of Manitoba is off to a wonderful start for 2018 with their new Express Entry pathway as well as their existing provincial nominee program. Manitoba is trying its best to invite eligible candidates in order to meet their provincial labour market needs and to make their economy stronger. So far, based on the January 11 draw, the new Express Entry pathway has invited approximately 155 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. In order to better understand how candidates are chosen, in this article, I will address more information pertaining to the new Express Entry pathway and how it affects Manitoba’s Provincial Nominee Program for future candidates.

Requirements for the New Express Entry Pathway

In order to be a qualified and eligible candidate under the Express Entry pathway in the province of Manitoba, you must have a registered profile in Manitoba’s Expression of Interest pool as well as the federal Express Entry pool. In addition to this requirement, you must also have a minimum of 6 months of recent work experience in an eligible occupation in Manitoba’s new In-Demand Occupation list. According to the province of Manitoba, the new Express Entry pathway is meant for eligible candidates who acquire human capital values. Additionally, you must also have the confirmed support in the form of a written letter from a close friend or family member who also resides in the province of Manitoba for a minimum of one year.

The YNP is administered by the government of the Yukon and runs in partnership with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The program facilitates the territory of Yukon to nominate foreign nationals with skilled work experience and who qualify under the established criteria to work in the Yukon and obtain permanent residency.
